FiveThirtyEight wrote up a long piece about how many scientists and journalists can quote “science” to justify practically any argument they want. The result among many people is that they have started to distrust scientific evidence. But the reasonable thing to do is to understand that to do real science is very hard, takes a lot of time and money, and needs to be thoroughly analyzed in order to be considered solid evidence.
